Merry Christmas to you!
All of us are "busy and anxious about many things" (St. Martha, pray for us!) both in our ministries and in our own homes with families and friends in these days. As Christ has come to us in the flesh, he has fixed his presence among us so that we encounter his presence as "God-with-us" in many ways: certainly in the sacramental life of the Church, particularly in his Body and Blood in the Eucharist, and also in the many ways in which we manifest his presence in our daily acts of love, mercy, and charity. As pastoral musicians and ministers in the liturgical apostolate, we will lead others to experience his presence in the celebrations of Christmas. May our singing, playing, directing, presiding, preaching, serving, welcoming, preparing, and everything else we do be blessed by the assurance that Christ is acting in and through us. May the Prince of Peace keep our hearts free from anxiety, and lead us-- and our world-- to true and lasting peace!
Thank you for all you do for NPM and for the Church as we sing, pray, and worship the Lord this Christmastime.
