“You changed my mourning into dancing;
O Lord, my God, forever I will give you thanks.”
Psalm 30:12, 13
On this Tenth Sunday in “Ordinary” Time, we continue to reflect that there is nothing “ordinary” about God’s love. In a world full of brokenness, with politicians who promote divisiveness and fear, surrounded by endless fighting in war-torn countries, among people starving for food and needing clean water, aware of misuse of global resources and continuous damage to the world’s environment, where do we place our trust and hope?
Our Scripture readings provide the answer: We hope in God’s tender loving care, healing, and grace. Our God brings life from death, health to the sick, and saving grace to all. Our God is that eternal light shining through any darkness.
may our music reflect thanks and joy for your unending gifts that rescue and guide us.
May our praise give you glory for all those blessings.
May our lives be given in your name to bring help and hope to a world in need.
As musicians and liturgists, may we strive daily to sing
and proclaim this vision of living discipleship and love.
We ask this through Jesus the Christ. Amen.
